Mount Lyford

Mount Lyford is 60 km from Kaikoura, which will take approximately 1 hours drive from Hapuku Lodge and Treehouses. At the Mount Lyford ranges, you can look forward to 20 kilometers of slopes. From the Mount Lyford Lodge, it’s an 8km long well-maintained gravel road which passes through native beach and forest into alpine terrain. It passes through the lower of the two areas at Mount Lyford, including Lake Stella (the original ski area) and Mount Terako Basin (the skiing area). The sunny Terako ski area, an ideal family field which offers a great learners area as well as challenging runs for intermediate and advanced skiers.

• 1750 m elevation at the top of Mount Terako
• Lifts include one t-bar, two platters, one 180 m fixed grip and one advanced tow rope
• Includes a wild ride terrain park with jumps, kickers and tails

Full day passes

A full day pass (9am - 4pm) for all lifts costs $83 for an adult (18+ years), $60 for a student with ID and adults 65+ years, $40 for youths (7 - 17 years) and under 7 and over 70 years is free.
A full day pass for the learners lift costs $50 for an adult (18+ years), $40 for a student with ID and adults 65+ years, $20 for youths (7 - 17 years) and under 7 and over 70 years is free. A learners lift only pass can be upgraded to all lifts at the ticket office.
There is also a 10% discount for families purchasing the full package of day passes and ski or snowboard hire based on 2 adults and 2 or more children.

Morning or afternoon passes

A morning or afternoon pass (9am - 12:30pm or 12:30pm - 4pm) for all lifts costs $60 for an adult (18+ years), $49 for a student with ID and adults 65+ years, $27 for youths (7 - 17 years) and under 7 and over 70 years is free.
A morning or afternoon pass for the learners lift costs $40 for an adult (18+ years), $30 for a student with ID and adults 65+ years, $15 for youths (7 - 17 years) and under 7 and over 70 years is free.
Gear hire
Hire of adult or student skis, boots and poles for a full day is $40 and an afternoon is $34. Hire of adult skis
